WOMEN’S PROFESSIONAL NETWORK (WPN)

Kahala’s own WPN is a dynamic group of professional women committed to creating an environment of support, encouragement and mentorship within the company. Since 2007, the WPN has provided both women and men with opportunities for personal growth and professional development including networking, education, community outreach and leadership training. The WPN is also committed to making a difference in the lives of Arizona’s men, women and children who find themselves facing life challenges that they are unable to overcome without the support of their community. Kahala’s WPN is able to contribute to the local community through their relationships with Children First Academy Phoenix, Sojourner Center and St. Mary’s Food Bank Alliance.

JUNTOS

Juntos is committed to promoting diversity and inclusion amongst Kahala’s employees, franchisees, customers, area developers and representatives. Since 2005, Juntos has been celebrating the unique talents, strengths and perspectives of our diverse community while striving to make Kahala a “Best in Class” global organization. Their goal is to develop and maintain a diverse and inclusive workforce through education, employee relations and community outreach. Juntos is committed to making a difference in the local community, as well. They proudly support Devereux Arizona, a leading behavioral health and child welfare organization that supports many of the most underserved and vulnerable members of our communities, helping them to lead fulfilling and meaningful lives.

MAKE-A-WISH

Founded in 1980, the Make-A-Wish grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions, which enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. With the help of generous donors and over 25,000 volunteers, the Make-A-Wish grants a wish every 38 minutes and has granted more than 223,485 wishes in the United States since inception. Cold Stone Creamery has supported the Make-A-Wish since 2001, generating nearly $4 million in donations, enough to help grant the wishes of over 550 children with life-threatening medical conditions. Each year, Cold Stone Creamery holds the World’s Largest Ice Cream Social—a national event financially benefitting Make-A-Wish's foundation. Additionally, Kahala supports Make-A-Wish each year through an internal, corporate, month-long donation drive in Spetember.

PHOENIX SUNS WIVES ORGANIZATION

The Suns Wives organization is comprised of the significant others of the players, coaches, basketball operations staff and senior management on the Phoenix Suns. They strive to make a difference in the lives of families and children by volunteering time, energy and resources to various charitable organizations throughout the Valley. Since 2006, Cold Stone Creamery has teamed up with the Phoenix Suns Wives organization to host an annual book drive which supplies children in need with reading materials through their relationship with more than a dozen local non-profit organizations. The battle against illiteracy continues, but Cold Stone Creamery is happy to have the Phoenix Suns Wives on their side of the fight.

PHOENIX CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL

Opening in 1983, Phoenix Children’s Hospital has been providing families across the Southwest with world-class healthcare. Within the last 30 years, it has grown to be the third largest children’s hospital in the country and plans to continue its expansion in order to meet the growing needs of its young patients. As the sole licensed children’s hospital in Arizona, Phoenix Children’s provides medical care for over 50 pediatric specialties. The mission of Phoenix Children’s Hospital is to provide hope, healing and the best healthcare for every child and family that walks through their doors. That being said, the hospital realized they needed to offer way more than just medical care. Through their Child Life Program, rooms were designed to reduce anxiety and fear in both patients and their families. Playrooms and Teen Rooms give both patients and their siblings a chance to socialize with other children of like ages, by meeting, playing games, and joining in on sponsored activities. Kahala is a proud sponsor of Phoenix Children’s Hospital, having multiple brands committed to making a difference. America’s Taco Shop hosted ‘Carne for a Cause’, a 1-day event in which 100% of all proceeds were donated to the hospital. Cold Stone Creamery has also hosted benefit nights, raising money for this valley organization and donated product to various events. Whether it’s hosting banana split parties for the children, hosting fundraisers at local Cold Stone Creamery locations, or donating proceeds through America’s Taco Shop to raise money, Kahala is thrilled and honored to be a sponsor of Phoenix Children’s Hospital.

BEST BUDDIES

Benefitting over 700,000 individuals worldwide, Best Buddies acts as a non-profit organization devoted to creating a volunteer movement for those with disabilities. Best Buddies notes that the disabilities they come across can be both intellectual and developmental. Therefore, chances such as leadership development classes, integrated employment opportunities, and one-on-one friendships with those who are outside of their normal environment, are provided. Seeking to change society's views of people with disabilities, Best Buddies establishes friendships which help both disabled and nondisabled people gain confidence and expand their knowledge of the world around them. Best Buddies has a variety of programs aimed at creating long-lasting, meaningful friendships for people that suit specific longings and needs. We are honored to say that Cold Stone Creamery President, Dan Beem, currently serves on the Best Buddies Board. Teaming up with Best Buddies since 2011, Cold Stone Creamery believes in everything the organization stands for. It is our pleasure to interact with and host ice cream socials for the group. In true Cold Stone Creamery fashion, we want all customers to be able to feel carefree and happy when enjoying our great ice cream, and together, Best Buddies has provided that back to us.
